The University of Phoenix ecampus (UOP)  is an established University with a large online presence. There is hardly a person seeking lessons or jobs on the web that has not had an ad for this school in front of them. The school is of course located in city of Phoenix, Arizona. It was founded by John Sperling and established in 1976. The school had humble beginnings with the first class containing eight students. In four short years, the school was expanding to other cities. San Jose, California was one city where the University of Phoenix shared their expertise. Today, the school has campuses or learning centers in 40 states. They also have an international presence in the Netherlands, Chile, Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico. One of their more popular alumni is the basketball player Shaquille O’Neal.
